Quick Riff #1 Big Bill Broonzy Turnaround

Big Bill Broonzy Turnaround for Fingerpicking Guitar by Eric Noden

This is one my favorite turnarounds that I first heard Big Bill Broonzy play. The pattern of open string, then first fret followed by second fret flows nicely under the fingers with some practice. It has a low down blues feel and uses mainly triplets on the bass strings. I use only the thumb pick for this to get an even sound and rhythm. Try practicing it slowly at first with a metronome and then speed it up. This riff works best for a slow or mid tempo blues shuffle.
